Purifying Wood Oil
Cypress has a long and amazing history worldwide. It is native to southern Europe, then spread to North Africa, Spain, France and Morocco, Nepal, Tibet and China, and has been around for thousands of years.
It was used as a cleansing incense in Nepal and Tibet, and the Chinese considered it a sacred tree of contemplation. It was planted outside temples and burial grounds in ancient Rome, made into houses and ships by the Phoenicians, and the Egyptians made their sarcophagi and statues out of its wood.
Its many healing properties have been passed down from all these ancient cultures, and we use Cypress essential oil for many therapeutic benefits today. Cypress essential oil has many beneficial properties that can improve your health, promote wellness and treat injuries and skin conditions.

- Astringent: Cypress essential oil has astringent properties that act as a skin toner for dull, oily skin, and soothes broken skin and pimples. Its styptic properties constrict blood vessels, stopping nosebleeds, heavy menstrual flow and bleeding, as well as reducing hemorrhoids and varicose veins. It tightens tissues in gums, skin, and hair follicles, strengthening and even preventing fallout of hair and teeth! Put a few drops on the soles of your feet, or use as aromatherapy for best results.
- Liver: Cypress oil maintains normal function of your liver and bile discharge, and protects your liver against infection or inflammation. Proper liver function is essential for the function of the entire body, as it filters toxins and regulates cholesterol production. Keeping it flushed out and in good health is vital to your wellness.
- Detox: Cypress oil induces sweating in the body, and sweating removes toxins, excess salts, and retained water, cleans out the pores and sweat and sebum glands. Just like a spa treatment in a steam room or a sauna, or a good workout or run, a good sweat is a very healthy way to detox.
