Clarity and Balance
Clary Sage was native to the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean, and now is cultivated in many countries for its many beneficial uses. It was known to the ancient Greeks, and prized by the great philosophers of that age for its euphoric, meditative qualities.
Today we know that Clary Sage acts on the hypothalamus, relieving anxiety and balancing mood, while giving vivid dreams and clarity to ideas. It was used throughout history for everything from removing debris from the eye, expelling splinters from the skin, healing boils and inflammation, strengthening the kidneys, and promoting healthy hair and scalp.
Today it’s used in cosmetics and shampoos, wine and beer, traditional naturopathic first aid, and aromatherapy.
This wonderful herbal oil is versatile for healing the body, soothing and balancing the emotions, and connection with the inner self and intuition.
- Female Menstrual Cycle: Clary Sage is known to help balance the hormones, useful in regulating PMS, mood swings and hot flashes, and easing menstrual cramps and discomfort. A few drops on the bottoms of your feet, or pulse points on your inner wrists, act quickly to lighten your mood, and relax and relieve stress. The ester molecules in Clary Sage are therapeutic sedative and anti-spasmodic agents that act gently and safely to bring your body and emotions to balance.
- Clarity and Focus: This essential oil was called Clear Eyes in the Middle Ages, for the clear vision it provided. With Clary Sage, both the outer and inner vision become clear, the hidden possibilities begin to open up, problems find solutions, and creativity can flourish.
